Kate O’Brien has been teaching Middle School Special Education for the past 12 years in the Boston area. She is dual certified in Elementary Education 1-6 and Special Education K-12 with an Autism Endorsement in the State of Massachusetts. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education and History from the University of Maine at Farmington, a Master of Education in Special Education from Merrimack College, and an Educational Specialist Degree in Reading from Gordon College. Kate is Level I Certified in Wilson Reading System and a Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner. She is also Level I Certified in Orton Gillingham and a Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist. Finally, Kate is also trained in Lindamood Bell’s Visualize and Verbalize program.
In her free time, Kate enjoys volunteer work. She is a Big Sister Mentor and is on the Library Trustee for the city she lives in.
