Kim Mitchell became passionate about reading when her younger son, now 18, was diagnosed with dyslexia when he was seven years old. She became active in a parent grassroots movement for over ten years with Decoding Dyslexia NJ. She is now an Associate member of the Orton Gillingham Academy and currently training at the Certified Level. She has received her Dyslexia Certificate from Mount St. Joseph’s College and became CERI certified at the Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist level with the International Dyslexia Association. She is attending Mount St. Joseph College for her Master’s degree in Reading Science, with an expected graduation date of August 2023. She was also on the Board of Trustees, tutored, and assisted in Orton Gillingham Training at The Bridge Academy, a school for children with language-based learning disabilities, where her son was fortunate enough to attend for several years.
Kim is raising two sons (ages 25 and 18) near the Jersey Shore with her husband. She loves all sports, especially football and the NY Giants.
She loves working one-on-one with students of all ages and is grateful for the opportunity to support your child in their reading journey.
